Home Decor for the Holidays

It’s my favorite time of the year...almost!

If you’re finalizing your Halloween costume idea, wiping crunchy leaves off your car windshield, and fielding texts from your family about Thanksgiving plans, you know what comes next: The Holidays!

There is nothing I love more than my home decor projects for the holiday season. The rich colors and warm lights come together for hosting, unwrapping, and all of the quiet moments in between.

I’ve already shared how I can transition your home decor for fall, but the holidays deserve their own blog series. Even though you might not be ready to break out your Christmas lights, it can’t hurt to start thinking about it, especially if you want a professional to help out!

I have been transitioning homes for the winter months since before launching Holly Hanna Floral, and this year, I’ve got 16 beautiful houses to decorate! From wreaths, mantles, Christmas Trees, and full room design, I fell in love with the process, and strive to create a custom design experience to fit each client.

Many clients already have at least two--okay, maybe four or five!--boxes of decorations waiting to be brought down from the attic and put on display. If the thought of hiking up there, locating the boxes, bringing them all down, and pulling all of the pieces out from old newspapers makes you want to take a nap: Call me!

My services include using the decor you already have, and setting it up for you! There’s something I love about transforming a heap of Christmas decorations from a pile on the floor into a beautiful holiday scene throughout your home. We use absolutely everything, and I might even display it in a new way, like with these light fixtures!

Having a professional use your items will help accent corners of your space you may not have thought to highlight before!

If you’re a new homeowner, or have recently switched up your home’s style, don’t worry: We’re ready to go shopping for you too! After our initial appointment to see your space, we’ll chat colors, style, and holiday themes. Then, we’ll put together a mood board based on the personality of your home year-round.

After we take your decor preferences into account--and add in some ideas of our own!--we’ll hit the shops, and source each garland, ornament, and bell. If there’s a spot in your home that you’ve always dreamed of doing--maybe a window sill snow scene, or adding some fresh floral garland to your mantle--we’ll start with that.

Transitioning your entire home for Christmas, and buying everything in one shot, can easily become overwhelming and expensive. We’re always on the lookout for deals that will not just look great this season, but years to come! We recommend starting with one room, especially if it’s your first season with us. Each year, we’ll add and grow your decor collection to keep things fresh, fun, and practical.

Just a small ribbon can make your entryway feel like Christmas, and it costs less than your Starbucks drink!

Once we’ve got the goods, my team will take over your home for the day, and Christma-tize it! We’ll lay everything out, set up each detail, and--just like our wedding day services--make your vision come to life.

By the time we’re done, your home will be ready to wine and dine, take family pictures on the porch, or as my favorite client said the other day: ‘Wake up every morning, sip my coffee, and stare at my gorgeous Christmas tree.’ There’s nothing I love more than the big reveal and my client’s reaction.

Come January, we also offer breakdown services to those who need it! From full scale packing and storage solutions, to labeling and organizing your items for next year, we won’t leave you hanging.

The holiday season is 4-6 weeks, and it’s so important--especially now!--to really love your home. The smallest addition, like a fresh pine wreath, or a hint of sparkle in an unexpected place can add so much joy, and becomes the backdrop to holiday memories that will last a lifetime. The best part? We’ll do all of the work for you!
